Alien: Earth Episode 3 “Metamorphosis” Recap – Wendy, Joe, and Monster Chaos
Noah Hawley's Alien: Earth keeps surprising viewers, and Episode 3, “Metamorphosis”, proves it. This episode is full of action, danger, and some really creepy aliens. Directed by Dana Gonzales and written by Hawley and Bob DeLaurentis, it throws the characters right into chaos!
Wendy and Joe vs. the Xenomorph

The episode starts with Wendy (Sydney Chandler) running through the wreckage of the USCSS Maginot, looking for her brother Joe (Alex Lawther). Joe is stuck to a wall in alien goo and shouts for Wendy to stay back. She doesn’t listen—she’s brave and determined. Wendy frees him, but the xenomorph shows up right after.
It doesn’t attack at first, which makes it even scarier. Then it jumps on the trailer roof. Wendy grabs a paper-cutter blade and fights it off while acid blood sprays everywhere. The trailer flips, Wendy flies, and Joe gets hurt. Wendy saves Joe with a bar hook, tries to trap the alien, but ends up captured herself. Somehow, she survives, and both siblings collapse from exhaustion. It’s intense, and watching Wendy keep going is really inspiring.
Morrow’s Dangerous Moves

Meanwhile, Morrow (Babou Ceesay) is causing trouble. He threatens Slightly (Adarsh Gourav) and Smee (Jonathan Ajayi) near alien eggs and even hacks Slightly’s mind. Then he jumps off the Maginot to escape. Later, in New Siam, Morrow refuses orders from Yutani, saying these creatures are his life’s work. He’s unpredictable and dangerous, and you can’t take your eyes off him.
From the Slums to Neverland
After all the chaos, Wendy, Joe, and the aliens end up at Boy Kavalier’s compound, called “Neverland”. The new location gives the show a chance to explore what happens next and show differences between the clean labs of Prodigy and the messy streets of New Siam.
Boy Kavalier: The Human Monster

Boy Kavalier (Samuel Blenkin) might be scarier than the aliens themselves. He obsesses over alien eggs, keeps humans out of his lab, and looks for someone clever enough to challenge him. Curly (Erana James) catches his attention by using her imagination, and Kavalier’s mix of brains and menace makes him both fascinating and frightening.
Lost Boys and the Real “Metamorphosis”

The episode title is about Wendy and the Lost Boys. Wendy, a hybrid with a child’s mind in an adult body, shows super strength and sharp senses while protecting Joe. Nibs (Lily Newmark) struggles with fear in her synthetic body, and Curly wants recognition. The show explores how these kids deal with being partly human, partly machine, and the story really shows their struggles and emotions.
Joe’s Lung Experiment
Things get dark fast. Joe survives having a lung removed, which is put in a container. Kirsh, Curly, and Tootles (Kit Young) open an alien egg, and Wendy hears the tiny xenomorph inside. It’s then placed into Joe’s lung container. Boy Kavalier is literally making monsters, and the stakes keep getting higher.
Final Thoughts
“Metamorphosis” is full of action, suspense, and emotion. Wendy and Joe’s courage, Morrow’s chaos, and Boy Kavalier’s terrifying intelligence all come together in an intense episode. The show mixes scary moments, tension, and character drama, making it one of the best episodes so far.
