The world’s already ended, but somehow things keep getting stranger — and a whole lot more dangerous. AMC just dropped a brand-new teaser for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3, and if this glimpse is any clue, Daryl and Carol’s road home is about to spiral into something a lot darker than expected.
Between cryptic characters, haunting new settings, and what looks like a detour through a wrecked London, this isn't just another chapter — it’s a full-on descent into the unknown.
This teaser came to us via Dead City’s press cycle, but it’s Daryl Dixon that stole the spotlight. And honestly? It's creepy in the best way. Gone is the usual action-heavy chaos — what we get instead is something quieter, tenser. A slow, creeping dread. New enemies are out there, and they’re not all walkers.
We also catch our first look at Stephen Merchant’s character — calm, collected, and a little too curious. His introduction to Daryl and Carol feels loaded with secrets. Word is, he’s their UK contact — which means this story is about to cross borders in a big way.
The core of Season 3 still follows Carol and Daryl trying to make their way home. But from the looks of it, they’re heading in the opposite direction — deserts, ruins, foreign cities, and eventually a train line that, according to executive producer Steve Squillante, is going to “blow people away”.
It’s not just the world that’s changing — Daryl and Carol are, too. This isn’t just a physical journey anymore. It’s emotional. It’s psychological. It’s survival, yes — but it’s also about identity, purpose, and what’s waiting at the end of the road… if they ever get there.
Season 3 was filmed almost entirely in Spain, but this isn’t just an American show using Europe for aesthetics. Squillante made that clear — this series is embracing the soul of the places it films in. Real ruins like Belchite, shattered by Spain’s civil war, give the world a texture that’s hard to fake.
“You see pieces of culture and history,” Squillante says. “Even though it’s a post-apocalyptic world”.
The production moved through Granada, Barcelona, Aragón — capturing Spain’s landscapes, history, and haunting beauty. That authenticity bleeds into the show, making everything feel more grounded… and more unnerving.
Joining Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride this season is a stacked lineup of new faces. Stephen Merchant might be the biggest name, but he’s not the only one making waves.
Expect big things from Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, Alexandra Masangkay, Candela Saitta, and Hugo Arbués. Whether they’re helping Daryl and Carol or dragging them deeper into the chaos, one thing’s clear — every one of them matters. And none of them are here by accident.
Toward the end of the teaser, there’s a quick but powerful reveal — what appears to be London, battered and barely recognizable. It’s not clear how or why Carol and Daryl end up there, but the imagery is unmistakable: Big Ben and that bleak British skyline under night skies. Is it a vision? A detour? A final destination before they finally head back to the States? All we know is it’s coming, and it’s going to shift the tone in a major way.
Daryl Dixon Season 3 is shaping up to be the most atmospheric and ambitious chapter yet. It’s not just about fighting to survive anymore — it’s about navigating that blurry space between monster and man, friend and enemy, home and complete disorientation.
It premieres this Fall, and personally? I think Daryl Dixon has become the best spinoff in The Walking Dead universe — it’s the one that’s grown, evolved, and dared to feel different while staying true to what made us care in the first place. And if that train scene delivers? We’re all in for one hell of a ride.
