Pluribus Season 1 Review: Carol, Manousos, The Hive, and the Dark Secrets Behind Humanity
Pluribus season 1 moves slowly and carefully. The story builds pressure without rushing. Each episode adds another layer of unease. By the finale, the damage is already done.
The season focuses on how people give up pieces of themselves without realizing it.
Manousos Is Impossible to Ignore

I love Manousos.
He is stubborn, rude, and difficult. He also travels 9,000 kilometers, teaches himself English and physics from library books, and keeps pushing forward when others stop.
His refusal to adapt makes him dangerous.
Some of the funniest moments belong to him. Watching him sulk in the trunk of the Rolls Royce felt perfect. His complaint about traveling “nine thousand kilometers for this shit” sounded honest and unfiltered.
He reacts emotionally and rationally at the same time, he resists authority.. that keeps him human.
Carol and Manousos Don’t Move Together

The chemistry between Carol and Manousos feels real because it stays uncomfortable. Their conversations carry tension instead of warmth.
Manousos sees manipulation everywhere. Carol understands how deep it goes. They talk past each other often. Trust develops slowly, if it develops at all!
The Hive Changes Everything Around It

The hive presents itself as calm and reasonable and the consequences appear quietly.
When Kusimayu joins and the village falls silent, culture disappears instantly. No music. No rituals. No hesitation. The absence feels creepy!!
and the baby goat scene stayed with me. It was abandoned and left alone. Care vanished once usefulness was gone. That moment captured what life inside the hive becomes.
Carol Knows What She Is Avoiding

Carol’s connection with Zosia rests on fragile ground. The comfort she reaches for feels temporary.
she understands that the hive cannot offer personal love. Even so, she allows herself to stay inside that illusion. Zosia using Helen’s memories to hold Carol close felt calculated and cruel.
Carol remains because leaving requires facing pain!
Looking Ahead

The hive already uses Carol’s stem cells without consent. I suspect Manousos's were taken while he was unconscious!
That possibility changes his role moving forward.
I also believe the voice on the phone belonged to Tony Dalton’s Lalo Salamanca. I know how unlikely that sounds, I’m keeping the theory anyway..
Final Thoughts
Pluribus season 1 focuses on loss that happens quietly.
Choice fades. Identity weakens.
Waiting for season 2 is going to be rough!
