Severance Dominates 2025 Emmy Nominations with 27 Huge Recognitions

TWENTY. SEVEN. That’s how many nominations Severance just pulled in for Season 2. I almost choked on my black coffee. Best Drama Series? Yup. Every single Emmy drama category except Outstanding Guest Actor? Unreal.

We all knew this season hit different, but seeing the nominations roll in like that? It’s kinda overwhelming in the best way. Like finally, the show’s getting the massive recognition we’ve been yelling about since day one. And yeah, it’s up against Andor, The Last of Us, and The White Lotus, but I’ve got this weird little hope buzzing under my skin—this could actually be it.

The Cast Is Finally Getting the Love They Deserve

I’ve been yelling about Adam Scott for months now, and the Emmy gods finally listened. He’s nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor, and Britt Lower—absolute powerhouse as Helly—is up for Lead Actress. Honestly? About time.

Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman, John Turturro—they all got Supporting Actor nods. I screamed when I saw Patricia Arquette’s name on the list again. She’s terrifying and magnetic and everything in between. And those guest actor noms? Gwendoline Christie, Merritt Weaver, Jane Alexander? STACKED.

And Ben Stiller?? Best Directing for the Cold Harbor finale. Of course. That episode broke my brain in the best way. Jessica Lee Gagné also got a directing nod for Chikhaai Bardo, which was such a haunting hour. And Dan Erickson getting recognition for writing? Yeah, he earned that ten times over.

It just feels right, y’know? All these people who poured themselves into this weird, brilliant nightmare of a show—getting seen. Getting celebrated.

Still Charting, Still Haunting Us

It’s July and Severance is somehow still in Apple TV+’s Top 10. Season 2 ended back in March! It just won’t let go of us—and honestly, I don’t want it to. According to FlixPatrol, it hit #6 in the U.S. as of July 19. It even passed Murderbot, and no shade to that show—it’s got a killer 96% critic score—but this just proves how sticky Severance is.

Rotten Tomatoes has it at 95%, IMDb at 8.7/10. Not surprised. It gets under your skin and stays there. I keep thinking about certain scenes randomly throughout the day—just flashes of Lumon corridors or Helly’s scream in that elevator.

Season 3 Confirmed... but That’s Not All

We already know a third season is happening (THANK GOD), but now Ben Stiller’s out here teasing possible spinoffs. Two ideas, apparently. He called them “nascent”, which... fine, be mysterious. But I’m already spiraling. Are we talking about other Lumon departments? Severance origins? The goats??? GIVE ME SOMETHING.

Also—this part threw me: Stiller and Adam Scott are totally open to making a video game. Like a full-on Severance game. Scott even said the world “lends itself to one”. And he’s right! Wandering those empty halls, piecing things together—it’s begging for a psychological thriller game. I’d play the hell out of that. I’d live in that creepy break room.

We’re Living in a Severance Era

If you haven’t watched it yet... seriously, what are you doing? Severance hits in a way most sci-fi doesn’t. It gets under your skin, twists your brain around, and leaves you thinking about hallway lights and break rooms at 2 a.m.

September 14. That’s Emmy night. I already know I’ll be a mess refreshing live results, whispering “Please win” at my screen like a maniac.
