What Is The Meaning Of 4 And 7 (47) In FROM [Analysis]
What’s up with the numbers 4 and 7?!
4 and 7 show up in FROM a lot! The radio signal in Jim’s RV, Father Khatri’s Bible hypothesis, Tillie’s family, and more. After all these recurrences, it is hard to believe it is just a background detail. And in the premiere of Season 4, when Kenny stated to Boyd that the number of the residents is 47, it resurrected the thought in my head around these two digits.
The recurrence of the numbers 4 and 7 in the town is NOT a coincidence. I believe these digits act as the structural mystery of a reality that is being written in real time.
When Did It Occur

It has occurred a lot, but I will mention what I can remember:
Kenny In The Premiere
The premiere of Season 4, when Kenny stated the number of residents. In fact, this scene is what made me plan to write this article, and I don’t think it will be the last occurrence of 47.
CB Radio in Jim's RV
In Jim’s RV, when Boyd, Randall, and Jim were stuck there, the radio showed the number 47 when the monsters were trying to enter the RV.
Lighthouse Dates
In the lighthouse, scratches on the wall indicate a cycle from 1931 to 1978, which is a 47-year cycle.
Cave Painting
In the Season 1 finale ("Into the Woods"), Victor looks at a cave painting featuring 4 on one side and 7 on the other.
Tillie's Family
And of course Tillie’s family, when she said, "I’ve had 4 kids and 7 grandchildren".
The Gospel of the 74th Book

Father Khatri was the first to suggest, in a private conversation with Sarah in the basement, that what they were experiencing might not be random at all but part of something being recorded. He hypothesized that the town could be the physical manifestation of a 74th book of the Bible. Since the traditional Bible ends at Book 73, the residents may be living through a “lost” testament where the "ink is still wet".
The “Man in Yellow” reinforces this idea when he speaks to Julie. He states that a story cannot be changed once it has been told. This suggests that while the characters feel they have free will, they may actually be moving toward a predetermined ending written by something beyond them.
If we go with Father Khatri's theory, then the numbers 4 and 7—or 74—begin to represent the boundary of their prison. They function like markers in a book that cannot be closed, meaning the place/town maybe using this biblical framing to influence events and push residents toward conflict, possibly steering them toward a final collapse that mirrors the violent endings found in ancient scripture.

So, What Does It Mean?!
Well, to be honest, I have no idea! But knowing that Jade and Tabitha seem like the two major pieces—based on the vision they had together at the end of Season 3—and that their name letters are 4 and 7 (Jade and Tabitha) (I didn’t figure this out; it’s something I came across while researching this topic), I think the numbers, 4 and 7, referance them cause they are key parts in solving this mystery.
I don’t fully go with Father Khatri’s theory, but the Man in Yellow clearly uses biblical verses, and it seems like he has strong biblical knowledge. On top of that, the place had no Bible (according to Father Khatri), but now they have one with the new arriving priest—plus the arrival of the Man in Yellow at the same time—so I think we still have to consider Father Khatri’s theory or something related or close to his theory.
It could also very much be a cycle of 47 years or rounds. Well, we'll wait and see.
