Ahsoka Season 2: Release Date, Cast, Plot & Everything We Know

The first season of Ahsoka was excellent and amazing, despite the mixed opinions about it. It was exciting, and the plot was really good.

Episode 5 of Season 1 was especially great. It was the best episode and got a 9 rating on IMDb. The show is excellent, and it will return on January 20, 2027, to continue the story. I can't wait for it.

Here's everything you need to know about Ahsoka Season 2:

The Release Window & Production Status

Post image

The new season will premiere on January 20, 2027, with new episodes released weekly on Disney+.

Filming began earlier this year, and Season 2 will have eight episodes, just like the first season.

Dave Filoni will be the writer, and Bryce Dallas Howard has been confirmed to return to direct two episodes, but we still don't know which two.

Plot Details & Cast

Dave Filoni has teased that Season 2 will get even weirder as we explore more of Peridea and the Witch Kingdom of the Dathomiri.

He also confirmed to Empire Magazine that the Mortis Gods will be part of the season. These three mysterious beings, the Father, Son, and Daughter, are closely connected to the Force, and their return could explain the statues we saw at the end of Season 1.

Meanwhile, Ahsoka and Sabine Wren will continue exploring the mysteries of the Force on Peridea, while Thrawn is back in the known galaxy and preparing for a new conflict with the New Republic.

Baylan Skoll Recast

After Ray Stevenson's tragic passing, Rory McCann, known for playing Sandor Clegane in Game of Thrones, will take over the role of Baylan Skoll in Season 2. I'm interested to see how the show continues Baylan's story with a new actor.

A Dual-Era Structure & Clone Wars Flashbacks

One of the biggest reveals from the D23 teaser is that Season 2 will have two different time periods, with one taking us back to the Clone Wars era.

Hayden Christensen will return as Anakin Skywalker, both as a Force ghost and in flashbacks. Ariana Greenblatt will also return as young Ahsoka Tano, and it looks like we'll get to see much more of her during the Clone Wars.

There are also reports that Ewan McGregor could appear as Obi-Wan Kenobi in his Clone Wars-era outfit, but this hasn't been confirmed yet.

With all these characters returning and the story exploring more of the Clone Wars, Season 2 is shaping up to be something special. I can't wait to see what's next for Ahsoka and where Dave Filoni takes the story.
